Company History
Hayes & Parkinson is a local family business established in 1892 by Mr. George William Parkinson (great grandfather of the current directors) and Mr. Adam Hayes. On the death of Adam Hayes the business passed to the Parkinson family and has remained in the family ever since.
Back in 1892 the business was a Joiners and Funeral Directors—the local joiner making coffins progressing into becoming the funeral director. In 1946 the business became a limited company, but remained family owned and run. Over the last 20 years the business has become almost solely a funeral directors taking pride in delivering a high quality family service to our clients.
Today the company is run by Alma Winder and her staff team. Since the sad loss of one of the company directors Alma is the only great grandchild of George Parkinson who originally founded the company, still working in the business. She follows in the footsteps of her father and grandfather who have proudly served their local community throught the years.
